“ This is a grocery predominantly for Russians. What I go for is their excellent fresh made pastry. Yesterday I bought a cheese and cherry pastry that was just wonderful! I usually buy their strudels - poppyseed or cheese and golden raisins. Their salads and cold cuts are good. I don't know much about the Russian and Ukrainian cold cuts, but I try something different every time. The have lots of different jars of pickles and other things. They also sell packaged and frozen goods and fresh produce. There is a restaurant at the far end of the building. It closes fairly early, but excellent for lunch - stuffed cabbage and other Eastern European dishes and salads and some dessert items, too. Definitely worth exploring! ”
“ I would like to express my huge gratitude to Luda and Tamara. I needed special pirozhki and strudels for the winter family engagement event at the childcare. They helped me with the special bakery order, followed all of my requests, and made all of my wishes come true. The children, parents, and grandparents of the childcare, Academy of Busy Bees, enjoyed fresh special order bakery during our New Year event. Luda and Tamara just went beyond and over scope of their work. I really appreciate for putting their efforts to make our event successful. Upon arrival time the bakery order was neatly packed and organized. The bakery was very clean. I am very satisfied and would recommend to use their services. Again thank you from the families of Academy of Busy Bees. ”
“ This isn't a big market, but they make great use of their space with lots of unique inventory. Discovered it because my sister in law is Azerbaijani and she was craving some food items from home, so wandering the aisles we found some weird items that were so worth trying. The foodie in me can't wait to come back and try more items. They have a hot food area near the front where you can get thinks like peroshkis and they have an attached restaurant (that I can't recommend because even though they look clean and it's nice to try some of the foods, they had a fly problem in which flies were landing on some of the baked goods and they ran out of water in the dispenser and it took forever for them to refill it). The deli staff can cut off a couple of samples so you can try foods before buying which is also nice, but don't monopolize their time, especially when they're busy, because they have a lot of people who need their help. ”
“ Good selection of Eastern European food. Frozen pierogi had a lot of options, we got a bagged one that had feta in it and was fantastic. The vatrushka was pretty good, as was the pirozhki. I got the cabbage one and enjoyed it partner snagged a chicken one and was really happy with it. ”
“ I kept hearing about this place on a Facebook group. It is a deli inside of a European grocery store. I love to wander food stores that have unfamiliar packaging, labels, languages and food options. I am sure many languages are spoken routinely here. My life is culturally deprived. They have a beautiful deli counter with good quality products, they were beautifully displayed. I got some mortadella and provolone. They slice to your specification. The food was good. I will remember this store each time I am on Pacific Avenue. I wish I could eat like when I was young. I would be there often, ”
“ This place will always be one of my all time favorite place for lunch! They have the best deal on the food and a lunch plate has 2-3 proteins and 1-2 carbs. You must get their potatoes with gravy! Plof is also amazing with the gravy. I always get their half potatoes and half Plof with lots of gravy. They have different varieties of meat, and dishes for you to choose. I personally like their cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers and fish with tar tar dipping sauce. My husband loves their meatballs and stuffed peppers! They always have many empty spots for you to enjoy your meal. Also, people are very friendly and nice there. you should also definitely try out their dessert, then you will feel completed. After lunch, definitely go check out the grocery store next to it and get their salad, deli meat and fresh fruits or veggies. ”
“ What fun shopping. And the meats. Wow. Everyone we talked to were friendly and talkative. Another patron struck up a conversation - very friendly. Definitely will be back ”
“ The Eastern European men that shop here are all just so stunning. Half the time I don't even know what I am buying, but who cares! I just enjoy the window shopping looking at all the tight panted men. ... asses for days! I am glad they are able to pull themselves out of the weight room long enough to display their beauty. ”
“ I absolutely love this store. It's spacious, clean, soft music playing in the background and the staff is very friendly. I am used to authentic stores with very overpriced products, but here everything is reasonably priced, including fresh produce. Lots of products from my childhood :) if I lived closer to this store, I'd probably go there for my regular grocery shopping. It totally worth the drive from Olympia to Tacoma. ”
